9th Vineyard race

The José L. Ferrer winery will be the starting point for the 9th Rural Vineyard Race, which will be held on 26 September, within the schedule of activities of the Festes des Vermar, the local harvest festival in Binissalem. This 6.5-kilometre race will take participants through the heart of the vineyards, in a unique, magical setting, with food and wines following the competition. There will also be a children’s race, to encourage the participation of the little ones in this sports event that is now a local festival classic.

The winery is nestled amid 140 hectares of vineyards with a predominance of autochthonous varieties, the Mantonegro and Callet red grape varieties and the Moll white wine variety, each with exceptional individual attributes and qualities that give the wines a distinctive personality and an exquisite Mediterranean aroma. The careful ageing process initially takes place in more than two thousand oak barrels that rest the underground caves and it ends in the bottle rack, which is also underground.
