Paella and wine in the vineyards

This past May, within the activities of the Binissalem D.O. Wine Days Festival, Bodegas José L. Ferrer launched a new initiative: a day of paellas and wine. Nearly one hundred people came together in Es Cós, an old structure of the cellar nestled amid the vineyards and beneath the shade of the vines, to enjoy the spectacular rice dishes cooked up by master paella chef Kike Martín, followed by almond ice cream, which is also very typical on the island. The recipes, which are just as original as they are autochthonous, included: Rice with rabbit, quail and Manto Negro grapes and a Rice with vegetables and spicy tomàtigues de ramallet (special Mallorcan tomatoes).

And of course, any event held by a winery will inevitably include the finest selections of its wines. In this case, the meal began with the sparkling wine, Espumoso Veritas Brut, as an appetiser, followed by the traditional red wine, Crianza José L. Ferrer, and finally, the sweet Veritas Dolç dessert wine.
