This year, Zafiro Hotels will be the main sponsor of the Balearic Islands’ largest sports event in terms of participation, the Palma Marathon, which will be held on 14 October and will now be known as the “Zafiro Palma Marathon”.
The last edition of the Palma Marathon brought together 10,000 runners and became one of the eight Spanish marathons boasting more than 1000 finishers.
The Zafiro Palma Marathon offers participants the option of entering the race in the different distance categories of 10, 21 or 42 km along a beautiful urban circuit that spans the entire seaside walk of the Bay of Palma and meanders through the historic centre of the city. The marathon will also be offering a runners’ expo and additional activities. According to a study run by the Universitat de les Illes Balears, last year’s event, in 2017, brought more than €12 million to the city.
